RMI-25 Product Information

RMI-25 Protects Your Engine

The engines in heavy-duty trucks and other industrial equipment generate enough heat to melt down the engine block and related parts. If an engine’s cooling system cannot dissipate that heat because of corrosion or deposit build-up, serious damage can be done to internal engine parts. Repairing that damage costs you money — both in expensive repairs and in lost revenues from downtime.

RMI-25 is a low-cost, effective safeguard against cooling system failure. It cleans while you drive; inhibits rust, cavitation erosion, electrolysis and pitting; lubricates water pump seals and thermostats; and improves cooling. RMI-25 should be in every water-cooled engine.

Just 1/16 inch of mineral deposit on 1 inch cast iron is equivalent to 4 1/2 inches of cast iron, reducing heat dissipation by 40 percent.

Corrosion deposits of any kind raise the engine as much as 700 degrees, causing hot spots and loss of cooling efficiency.

RMI-25 cleans your engine cooling system’s metal surfaces, then protects against cavitation erosion, electrolysis, pitting and further corrosion. RMI-25 promotes cooler operating and higher efficiency — and it does it while you drive, with no labor costs.

How RMI-25 Works to Clean Your Engine

RMI-25 restores the additive package to your antifreeze. RMI-25 is a liquid consisting of a pH Stabilizer for acid/alkaline balance and an Oxygen Scavenger to prevent cavitation, erosion, and cylinder pitting. A Lubricant for seals, hoses and water pumps. A Cleaner that breaks down rust, scale and corrosive deposits. These deposits are changed from solids to a soft floating harmless gel-like material. These dissolved solids will not recombine or form blockages in the cooling system. After a period of time, the dissolved solids will purge out of the system and into the coolant recovery tank. In the case of vehicles with coolant filters, the dissolved materials will become trapped in the filter. In a couple weeks of driving a dirty system will be nearly clean. This cleaning action is continuous when the engine is in operation. Once the clean metal status is reached an organic barrier is then formed on the clean metal preventing further contamination. Water Conditioning is accomplished by a surfactant agent, improving heat transfer and making water more efficient than coolant itself.

Engine Heat

Inhibitors type products sold by the would-be competition do nothing to promote a cooler running engine. They are designed strictly to inhibit only certain types of corrosion. Because they contain dissolved solids, they may actually cause your engine to run hotter.

The unique cleaning properties of RMI-25 will often cause a noticeable drop in operating temperatures (usually observed from four to six degrees).
